Maria Ines Butler, LCSW does not participate with any insurance panels and therefore is considered an “out of network” provider and her services are covered by most PPO insurance plans. When people use their insurance for mental health services they must be given a psychiatric diagnosis for those services to be covered (such as depression, bipolar, general anxiety, PTSD). Once the person has received a psychiatric diagnosis it becomes a permanent part of their medical history. Insurance companies determine which diagnosis warrant treatment and for how long. Many individuals who seek mental health services do not warrant a diagnosis, yet would greatly benefit from therapeutic services. Maria Ines Butler, LCSW does not believe that this should keep individuals from seeing a therapist and improving their overall satisfaction with their life.
Another aspect of using insurance to cover mental health services is privacy. The information submitted to insurance companies is viewed by a number of people who ultimately make decisions about your care and determine how many sessions you are approved for. If you decide that you would like to get reimbursed a statement can be prepared for this purpose, if requested, for you to submit to your insurance company.

What is my deductible?
How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

Cash & check accepted for payment. Please note that I do not accept credit card payment. Fees are paid at time of service.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance to avoid charge to your account. The missed appointment charge is equivalent to a regular fee. Please be aware that missed appointments are not usually covered by insurance.
